The marching band
Came down along Main Street
The soldier blues fell in behind
I looked across and there I saw Billy
Waiting to go and join the line
And with her head upon his shoulder
His young and lovely fiancee
From where I stood, I saw she was crying
And through her tears, I heard her say
(CHORUS)
Billy, don't be a hero
Don't be a fool with your life
Billy, don't be a hero
Come back and make me your wife
And as Billy started to go
She said keep your pretty head low
Billy, don't be a hero, come back to me
The soldier blues
Were trapped on a hillside
The battle raging all around
The sergeant cried
We've got to hang on, boys
We got to hold this piece of ground
I need a volunteer to ride up
And bring us back some extra men
And Billy's hand was up in a moment
Forgetting all the words she said
She said
(CHORUS)
I heard his fiancee got a letter
That told how Billy died that day
The letter said that he was a hero
She should be proud he died that way
I heard she threw the letter away.

Daddy was a cop
On the east side of Chicago
Back in the U.S.A.
Back in the bad old days
In the heat of a summer night
In the land of the dollar bill
When the town of Chicago died
And they talk about it still
When a man named Al Capone
Tried to make that town his own
And he called his gang to war
With the forces of the law
I heard my mama cry
I heard her pray
The night Chicago died
Brother, what a night it really was
Brother, what a fight it really was
Glory be
I heard my mama cry
I heard her pray
The night Chicago died
Brother, what a night the people saw
Brother, what a fight the people saw
Yes, indeed
And the sound of the battle rang
Through the streets of the old east side
Til the last of the hoodlum gang
Had surrendered up or died
There was shouting in the street
And the sound of running feet
And I asked someone who said
Bout a hundred cops are dead
I heard my mama cry
I heard her pray
The night Chicago died
Brother, what a night it really was
Brother, what a fight it really was
Glory be
I heard my mama cry
I heard her pray
The night Chicago died
Brother, what a night the people saw
Brother, what a fight the people saw
Yes, indeed
And there was no sound at all
But the clock upon the wall
Then the door burst open wide
And my daddy stepped inside
And he kissed my mama's face
And he brushed her tears away
The night Chicago died
Na na na na na na....
The night Chicago died
Brother, what a night the people saw
Brother, what a fight the people saw
Yes, indeed
The night Chicago died
Na na na na na na....
The night Chicago died
Brother, what a night it really was
Brother, what a fight it really was
Glory be
The night Chicago died
Na na na na na na....
The night Chicago died......

You told me I was the one
The only one who got your head undone
And for a while I believe the line that you spun
But I've been lookin' at you
Lookin’ closely at the things you do
I didn't see you the way you wanted me to
Howzat
You messed about
I caught you out
Howzat
Now that I've found where you're at
It's goodbye
Well Howzat
It’s goodbye
You only came for a smile
Even though you're really not my style
I didn't think that you'd run me around like you do
Howzat
You messed about
I caught you out
Howzat
Now that I've found where you're at
It's goodbye
Well Howzat
It’s goodbye
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Well I've been lookin' at you
(I’ll tell you what I see)
Looking closely at the things you do
(No you can’t fool me)
I didn't see you the way
You wanted me to
Howzat
You messed about
I caught you out
Howzat
Now that I've found where you're at
It's goodbye
Howzat
You messed about
I caught you out
Howzat
Now that I've found where you're at
It's goodbye
Well Howzat
Goodbye
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)
Ritchie Valens, The McCoys
Well, come on
Let's go, let's go
Let's go, little darling
Then tell me that
You'll never leave me
Come on, come on
Let's go again, again and again
Well, now swing me
Swing me all the way down girl
Come on, let's go
Little darling
Let's go, let's go
Again once more
Well, I love you so, oh girl
And I'll never let you go
Come on, baby, so
Oh, pretty baby, I love you so
Let's go, let's go
Let's go, little sweetheart
And tell me we can always be together
Come on, come on, let's go again
I love you so, yeah
And I'll never let you go
Come on, baby, so
Oh, pretty baby, I love you so
Let's go, let's go
Let's go, little darlin'
We're dancin' and we'll be long here
Come on, come on
Let's go again, again and again and again
Again, again and again and again
Again, again and again and again....
"Individually & Collectively"
(Last Night) I Didn't Get To Sleep At All
The 5th Dimension
1972
.
Last night, I didn't get
To sleep at all, no, no
I lay awake and watched
Until the morning light
Washed away the darkness
Of the lonely night
(Lonely night)
Oh, and last night, I got
To thinking maybe I, I, I
Should call you up and
Just forget my foolish pride
I heard your number ringing
I went cold inside
And last night I didn't
Get to sleep at all
I know it's not my fault
I did my best
God knows this heart of mine
Could use a rest
But more and more, I find
The dreams I left behind
Are somehow too real to replace
Oh, and last night I didn't
Get to sleep at all, no, no
The sleeping pill I took
Was just a waste of time
I couldn't close my eyes
'Cause you were on my mind
And last night I
Didn't get to sleep
Didn't get to sleep
No, I didn't get to sleep at all
But more and more, I find
The dreams I left behind
Are somehow too real to replace
Oh, last night I didn't get
To sleep at all no, no
The sleeping pill I took
Was just a waste of time
I couldn't close my eyes
'Cause you were on my mind
And last night I
Didn't get to sleep
Didn't get to sleep
No, I didn't get to sleep at all
No, no, no
No, no, no
Last night I didn't get
To sleep at all, no, no
Last night I didn't get
To sleep at all, oh, oh...
Telephone Man".
Mr. Telephone Man
New Edition
1984
Mr. telephone man
There's something wrong with my line
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click everytime
Mr. telephone man
There's something wrong with my line
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click everytime
When I dial 611 to pay a service
She said
Hello, may I help you please?
I told her
Something must be wrong
With my phone
'Cause my baby wouldn't
Hang up on me
Mr. telephone man
There's something wrong with my line
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click everytime
Mr. telephone man
There's something wrong with my line
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click everytime
She let the phone ring 20 times
Before she answered
Let me tell you what happen then
A minute later
I got the operator saying
Please hang up
And place your call again, baby
Mr. telephone man
There's something wrong with my line
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click everytime
Mr. telephone man
Somethin's wrong with my line
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click everytime
Some strange man is on the telephone
Keeps telling me my baby ain't home
She ain't got no party line
This situation's blowin' my mind
Oh! I just can't take this anymore
Please operator
See what you can do
I dialed the right number
But I still couldn't get though
Would you just check the line
Just one more time if you can
I'm pretty sure my phone
Wouldnt be answered by no man
Mr. telephone man
There's something wrong with my line
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click everytime
Mr. telephone man
Somethin's wrong with my line
I try to dial her number
I get a click everytime
Must be a bad connection
I give 'em my love and affection
I just can't take this no more
This situation's blowin' my mind
Can't get my baby on the line
I try dialing information
I can't get no cooperation
System on the phone
Telling me my baby ain't at home
Ahh, baby
I just can't take this anymore
Help me out
Please Mr. telephone man
Help me out
Please Mr. telephone man.
Rock Me Gently
by Andy Kim
1974
Ain't it good, ain't it right
That you are with me here tonight
The music playing
Our bodies swaying in time
(In time, in time, in time)
Touching you
So warm and tender
Lord, I feel such
A sweet surrender
Beautiful is the dream
That makes you mine
Rock me gently
Rock me slowly
Take it easy, don't you know
That I have never been
Loved like this before
Baby, baby
Rock me gently, rock me slowly
Take it easy, don't you know
That I have never been
Loved like this before
Oh, my darling, oh, my baby
You got the moves
That drive me crazy
And on your face
I see a trace of love
(Of love, of love, of love)
Come hold me close
Don't let me go
I need you, honey
I love you so
You were made for me
By the stars above
Oooh, rock me gently
Rock me slowly
Take it easy, don't you know
That I have never been
Loved like this before
And baby, baby
Rock me gently, rock me slowly
Take it easy, don't you know
That I have never
Been loved like this before
Rock me gently, rock me slowly
Take it easy, don't you know
That I have never been
Loved like this before
Ain't it good, ain't it right
That you are with me
Here tonight
Rock me gently, rock me slowly
Take it easy, don't you know
That I have never been
Loved like this before
Baby, baby, rock me gently
Rock me slowly
Take it easy, don't you know
That I have never been
Loved like this before
Guatemala.
Fue el unico éxito del grupo.
Psychotic Reaction
Count Five
1966
I feel depressed
I feel so bad
‘Cause you're the best girl
That I've ever had
I can't get your love
I can't get affection
Oh, little girl
Psychotic reaction
And it feels like this ...
- Interlude -
I feel so lonely
Night and day
I can't get your love
I must stay away
Well, I need you, girl
By my side
Oh, little girl
Would you like
To take a ride, now
I can't get your love
I can't get satisfaction
Oh, little girl
Psychotic reaction

When this old world gets me down
And there's no love to be found
I close my eyes and soon I find
I'm in a playground in my mind
Where the children laugh
And the children play
And we sing a song all day
My name is Michael
I've got a nickel
I've got a nickel shiny and new
I'm gonna buy me all kinds of candy
That's what I'm gonna do
In the wonders that I find
In the playground in my mind
In a world that used to be
Close your eyes and follow me
Where the children laugh
And the children play
And we'll sing a song all day
My girl is Cindy
When we get married
We're gonna have a baby or two
We're gonna let them visit their grandma
That's what were gonna do
See the little children
Living in a world
That I left behind
Happy little children
In the playground in my mind
See the little children
See how they play so happy
In the playground in my mind
You Got It
Roy Orbison
1989
Letra: Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty
Everytime I look
Into your loving eyes
I see a love that
Money just can't buy
One look from you
I drift away
I pray that you
Are here to stay
Anything you want, you got it
Anything you need, you got it
Anything at all, you got it
Baby
Everytime I hold you
I begin to understand
Everything about you
Tells me I'm your man
I live my life
To be with you
No one can do
The things you do
Anything you want, you got it
Anything you need, you got it
Anything at all, you got it
Baby
Anything you want, you got it
Anything you need, you got it
Anything at all
You got it
Do do do....
Ohhhhh...
You got it
I'm glad to give
My love to you
I know you feel
The way I do
Anything you want, you got it
Anything you need, you got it
Anything at all, you got it
Baby
Anything you want, you got it
Anything you need, you got it
Anything at all, you got it
Baby
Anything at all, you got it
Baby, you got it.
