Sunny Afternoon
The Kinks
1966
The tax man's taken all my dough
And left me in my stately home
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
And I can't sail my yacht
He's taken everything I've got
All I've got's this sunny afternoon
Save me, save me
Save me from this squeeze
I got a big fat mama
Trying to break me
And I love to live so pleasantly
Live this life of luxury
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime
My girlfriend's run off with my car
And gone back to her ma and pa
Telling tales of
Drunkenness and cruelty
Now I'm sitting here
Sipping at my ice cold beer
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
Help me, help me
Help me sail away
Well, give me two good
Reasons why I oughta stay
Cause I love to live so pleasantly
Live this life of luxury
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime
Ah, save me, save me
Save me from this squeeze
I got a big fat mama
Trying to break me
And I love to live so pleasantly
Live this life of luxury
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime
Heart Of Stone
The Rolling Stones
1965
There've been so many
Girls that I've known
I've made so many cry
And still I wonder why
Here comes the little girl
I see her walking down the street
She's all by herself
I try and knock her off her feet
But she'll
Never break, never break
Never break, never break
This heart of stone
Oh, no, no
This heart of stone
What's different about her
I don't really know
No matter how I try
I just can't make her cry
Cause she'll
Never break, never break
Never break, never break
This heart of stone
Oh, no, no, no
This heart of stone
Don't keep on looking
That some old way
If you try acting sad
You'll only make me glad
Better listen, little girl
You go on walking down the street
I ain't got no love
I ain't the kind to meet
Cause you'll
Never break, never break
Never break, never break
This heart of stone
Oh, no, no
You'll never break
This heart of stone, darling
No, no, this heart of stone
You'll never break it, darling
You won't break
This heart of stone
Oh, no, no, no
You better go
You better go home
Cause you'll, you'll never
Break this heart of stone
The Wanderer
Dion
1961
Oh, well, I'm the type of guy
Who will never settle down
Where pretty girls are
Well, you know that I'm around
I kiss em and I love em
Cause to me they're all the same
I hug em and I squeeze em
They don't even know my name
They call me the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam, around, around
Around, around
Oh, well, there's Flo on my left
And there's Mary on my right
And Janie is the girl
Well, that I'll be with tonight
And when she asks me
Which one I love the best
I tear open my shirt
I got Rosie on my chest
Cause I'm the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam, around, around
Around, around
Oh, well, I roam from town to town
I go through life without a care
And I'm happy as a clown
With my two fists of iron
But I'm going nowhere
Oh, yeah, I'm the type of guy
That likes to roam around
I'm never in one place
I roam from town to town
And when I find myself
A-falling for some girl, yeah
I hop right into that car of mine
I drive around the world
Yeah, I'm the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam, around, around
Around, around
Oh, yeah, I'm the type of guy
That likes to roam around
I'm never in one place
I roam from town to town
And when I find myself
A-falling for some girl
I hop right into that car of mine
Drive around the world
Cause I'm a wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around
Around, around, around
Cause I'm a wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around
Around, around, around
The Majestic
Dion
1961
Dooby dooby dip....
Get up
Let's do this dance now
This dance started down in DC
Now they're doing it down to V
All the way to the Pacific shore
Man, it's the greatest
Dance you ever saw
I said, get up everybody
And move your feet
Yeah, my drummer's
Got a swinging beat
Everything is grooving, people
Here's your chance
It's time for you
To do this dance
It's the Majestic, the Majestic
Do it, the Majestic, the Majestic
Yeah, that's great
Come on, everybody
Take a tip from me
They even got my
Message down in Waikiki
Grab your partner
And get on the ball
Everytime you hear this call
Cause there is no more Shimmy
And no more Bop
The kids in Philly have
Stopped doing the Slop
Yeah, everybody
Now you're looking just fine
People, get in a big boss line
Dance, dance, dance
Dance, people
Dance, people
Dance, dance, people
Yeah, with a little bit of soul
Get up
It's the Majestic, the Majestic
Do it, the Majestic, the Majestic
Yeah, do it, that's great
All the way from
Georgia to the Golden Gate
Kentucky and virginia
And the color state
They're even grooving in Chicago town
This dance is really getting round
Dance, people
Dance, dance, people
Dance, dance, dance, people
Dance with a little bit of soul
Get up and do this dance
Runaround Sue
Dion
1961
Here's my story, it's sad but true
It's about a girl that I once knew
She took my love then ran around
With every single guy in town
Hey, hey, wooah
Hey, hey, wooah....
I should have known it
From the very start
This girl will leave me
With a broken heart
Now listen. people
What I'm telling you
A-keep away from-a Runaround Sue
Yeah, yeah
I miss her lips
And the smile on her face
The touch of her hair
And this girl's warm embrace
So if you don't
Wanna cry like I do
A-keep away from-a
Runaround Sue
Woah.....
She likes to travel around, yeah
She'll love you
And she'll put you down
Now people let me put you wise
Sue goes out with other guys
Here's the moral and the story
From the guy who knows
I fell in love
And my love still grows
Ask any fool
That she ever knew
They'll say keep away
From-a Runaround Sue
Keep away from this girl
I dont know what she'll do
Keep away from Sue
She likes to travel around
She'll love you
And she'll put you down
Now people let me put you wise
Sue goes out with other guys
Here's the moral and the story
From that guy who knows
I fell in love
And my love still grows
Ask any fool
That she ever knew
They'll say keep away
From-a Runaround Sue, yeah
Stay away from that girl
Dont you know what
She'll do now, woah
